“L’esposizione composta da lavori digitali, in cui si fondono fotografia, computer art e videoarte, mostra le ricerche visive condotte dell’artista negli ultimi anni.
Chiariello indagando la materia dell’immagine, fissa e in movimento, penetra tra le trame e i pixel e innescando processi fa emergere la natura digitale nelle sue possibili manipolazioni “indotte” e casuali.
Svelano un altro aspetto della “Natura digitale” le parole dell’artista riferite al ciclo di lavori che ci appare nella prima sala: «Le mie opere mostrano il lato “naturale” della tecnologia: a volte qualcosa interrompe la “corretta” visualizzazione delle immagini sullo schermo. Cos'è? Un malfunzionamento? Un errore? Per me è la natura. Per qualche motivo il percorso degli elettroni viene deviato o modificato e le immagini che vediamo sono il risultato di equilibri naturali spontanei.»
Mosaici statici di riprese video registrate da Chiariello per la città danno luogo ad una nuova visione: paesaggi frammentati “immobili” in cui convivono spazio/tempo diversi catturati e cristallizzati nello sfarfallio della riproduzione.
Da fotografie e da riprese, di paesaggi quotidiani come di opere d’arte, hanno origine stampe e video caratterizzati dalla dilatazione delle “Linee” che compongono le immagini. Fasce, verticali o orizzontali, che espandendosi sulla superficie aprono orizzonti nel visibile, si schiudono nelle sfaccettature dei colori e nella squadratura bidimensionale allungata dei pixel mantenendo la riconoscibilità della sorgente che si svela nella sua complessità. L’artista nelle sue sperimentazioni digitali prosegue e attualizza le ricerche sulla percezione, e di conseguenza sulla configurazione dell’esistente, impressioniste e cubiste ed incrocia la pixel e glitch art come le indagini condotte sull’elaborazione di tessiture minimimaliste dell’immagine.” (Veronica D’Auria)

Piero Chiariello - Biografia
Nato nel 1972 a Torre del Greco (NA) dove vive e lavora.
Artista poliedrico, sperimentatore, spazia tra i più diversi generi (pittura, fotografia, musica, video).
Studia architettura presso l'Università degli Studi di Napoli "Federico II" e nel 1989 inizia a comporre musica, a dipingere e a studiare arte da autodidatta.
Dal 1996 il suo interesse per la chimica e la fisica lo porta a sperimentare l'interazione tra sostanze chimiche e naturali, liquide e solide, con la corrente elettrica e le onde sonore. Grazie alla fotografia cattura istanti di questi mutevoli esperimenti in cui la musica, modificando colori e forme delle sostanze, modella la materia divenendo strumento pittorico e scultoreo.
Dal 2001 intraprende la ricerca digitale legata al suono con una serie di lavori dal titolo "Waves" in cui cristallizza immagini di un oscilloscopio mostrando in un unico colpo d'occhio il flusso temporale della musica.
Nel 2006 inizia a dedicarsi al progetto "Linee" volto ad indagare la percezione ed interpretazione della realtà attraverso l'ingresso e l'ingrandimento delle "maglie del visibile" (L. Strangis). A partire da fotografie, da lui scattate, seleziona delle fasce dell'immagine, verticali o orizzontali, che dilata fino a ricoprire l'intera superficie.
Da questa ricerca nasceranno anche i suoi lavori audiovisivi che inserendo l'elemento temporale mostreranno la motilità degli elementi che costituisco l'immagine "fissa".
Recentemente si è dedicato a continuare una ricerca intrapresa nel 2005: immagini nate dalla fortuita interruzione del flusso video in cui frammenti temporali e visivi diversi si trovano a formare un unico panorama frastagliato.
Ha partecipato a mostre di rilievo in prestigiosi spazi espositivi tra cui citiamo "CAM - Casoria Contemporary Art Museum" Casoria (NA); "White Box Museum", Pechino; "Fondazione March", Padova; "Museo MAV", Ercolano; "MACRO- Museo Arte Contemporanea Roma", Roma; "muBA-Museu Belas Artes" di San Paoulo, Brasile; "PAN- Palazzo delle Arti di Napoli" Napoli; Galleria "Il ritrovo di Rob Shazar", Sant'Agata de' Goti (BN).

Chiariello investigating the matter of the image, fixed and moving, penetrating between the frames and the pixels and triggering processes brings out the digital nature in its possible manipulations "induced" and random ones.
Reveal another aspect of the "Digital Nature" the artist's words referred to the series of works that appears in the first room : " My works show the "natural" side of technology : sometimes something breaks the " correct " view of the images on the screen. What's this? A malfunction ? An error? For me it's the nature. For some reason the path of electrons is deflected or modified, and the images we see are the result of spontaneous natural balance . "
Static mosaics of video footage recorded by Chiariello for the city give rise to a new vision : fragmented landscapes "motionless" in which coexist different space / time captured and crystallized in the flicker of reproduction.
From photographs and footage of everyday landscapes as works of art , originate prints and videos characterized by the expansion of the " lines " that make up the images. Bands , vertical or horizontal , which expands on the surface of open horizons in the visible , they hatch into facets of colours and in the squared elongated two-dimensional of the pixels maintaining the recognisability of the source is revealed in all its complexity .
The artist in his digital experimentation continues and updates the research on perception, and consequently on the configuration of the existing, impressionist and cubist and crosses the pixels and glitch art as surveys conducted on the development of textures minimimalist of the image. Piero Chiariello - Biography
Born in 1972 in Torre del Greco (NA) where he lives and works.
A multifaceted artist , experimenter , ranges among the most diverse genres ( painting, photography, music, video).
He studied architecture at the University of Naples "Federico II" and in 1989 he began to compose music, to paint and study art on his own. Since 1996 his interest in chemistry and physics led him to experiment the interaction between chemicals and natural , liquid and solid , with electricity and sound waves . Thanks to photography captures moments of these experiments in which the music , changing colours and forms of the substances, shapes matter becoming an instrument of painting and sculpture.
Since 2001 he started his research related to digital sound with a series of works entitled " Waves" in which crystallizes images of an oscilloscope showing in a single glance the temporal flow of the music.
In 2006 he began to devote himself to the project "Linee" in order to investigate the perception and interpretation of reality through the entrance and the magnification of the "tangles of the visible " ( L. Strangis ). From photographs taken by him, he selects bands of the image, vertical or horizontal , which expands to cover the entire surface.
From this research will also be born his audio-visual works that inserting the time element will show the motility of the elements that constitute the image "fixed".
Recently, he has dedicated himself to continue a research undertaken in 2005 : images born from the accidental interruption of the video stream in which different visual and temporal fragments are found to form a single jagged landscape.
He has participated in important exhibitions at prestigious exhibition spaces among which we quote " CAM - Casoria Contemporary Art Museum " Casoria (NA ), " White Box Museum" , Beijing ; " March Foundation ," Padova " MAV Museum ," Ercolano "MACRO - The Museum of Contemporary Art of Rome , " Rome " MUBA - MuseuBelasArtes " San Paulo , Brazil ; " PAN- Arts Palace of Naples " Naples Gallery " Il ritrovo di Rob Shazar , " Sant'Agata de 'Goti (BN ).
