Radio Materiality - presentations of Jaume Ferrete and Kari Conte

This Thursday, the 4th at Doppelgaenger:

at 7.30 pm:
Jaume Ferrete will present to the public his on-going project Voz Rara and in particular he will talk about the outcomes of his workshop with the LGBT community in Bari. The project focuses on the use of voice in relation to politics, society, sexuality and affectivity.
Jaume Ferrete is one of the artists invited to take part to Radio Materiality.

at 8.20 pm:
Kari Conte, now in Bari visiting Vessel, will speak about her research on artist Mierle Laderman Ukeles’ work ballets at 6.30 pm at Doppelgaenger. Work ballets is a series of large-scale collaborative performances involving workers, trucks and barges that took place between 1983 and 2012 in Givors, Echigo-Tsumari, New York, Pittsburgh, and Rotterdam.
Conte is the editor of Mierle Laderman Ukeles: Seven Work Ballets –the artists’ first monograph – published by Sternberg Press later this year.

Radio Materiality is step by step becoming structured as a platform that shares knowledge about the cultural vicinity between the Mediterranean and the Region of Puglia.
After the realization of the project, Blu Oltremare by the Italian artist Leone Contini and 41°08’24’’ di latitudine Nord e 16°50’49’’ di longitudine Est, the initial exploration on the ground by Claire Bosi on the relation between the sea and the work of fishermen, Vessel is now hosting the artist and researcher Hakan Topal, who will work on the status of migrants in the region through a selection of music, chosen on the basis of their individuale tastes.
