Venerdì 10 marzo alle ore 19.00 la galleria Doppelgaenger inaugura “Il mormorio dei fossili”, prima mostra personale in Italia di Sarah Jérôme.
L’artista arriva alle arti figurative dopo tredici anni trascorsi nel mondo della danza e da questa disciplina, da questa filosofia di vita, sembra che continui ad attingere il vigore e l’armonia delle sue opere. Il corpo umano puntualmente disgregato e ricomposto è spesso il suo motivo d’ispirazione.
Le opere di Sarah Jérôme, come nelle più classiche delle metamorfosi, sono fatte di diversi elementi sia vegetali che animali ed emergono da magma artistico simile ad una continua combustione, ad una alterazione minerale.
Le opere dell’artista sono veri e propri luoghi di suggestioni, di citazioni letterarie che tramite il corpo e le sue trasfigurazioni rapprendono fogli e materia;Jérôme traduce questi elementi in opere fatte di simboli e realtà, di bellezza e avversione, di dolcezza e virilità, di intimità e apparenza.
Le opere selezionate per questa mostra sono le testimonianze di questa costante tensione dello spirito nel creare e reinterpretare miti, tra la grevità dell’informe e la delicatezza dei corpi e questo Jérôme lo conferma quando ci dice che «il corpo è il nostro comune denominatore, il teatro dei nostri desideri e delle nostre sofferenze. Alla stregua di un sito geologico formato da strati, è attraverso il corpo che la memoria si imprime, ed è attraverso di lui che siamo in grado di comunicare.»
Sarah Jérôme nasce a Rennes nel 1979. Vive e lavora in Francia. Dopo aver ottenuto il diploma presso il Conservatoire National Supérieur de danse di Parigi nel 1998, lavora presso la Lyon Opera Ballet e si dedica alle arti plastiche dal 2001 quando si iscrive alla Ecole Supérieur des Beaux artes di Parigi. I suoi lavori sono esposti in Francia, Italia, Inghilterra, Germania, Svizzera e Belgio presso musei, gallerie e fiere d'arte contemporanea.

On March 10th, at 7 p.m. Doppelgaenger gallery opens “Il Mormorio dei Fossili”, the first solo exhibition of Sarah Jérôme in Italy.
The artist comes to figurative art after thirteen years spent in the world of dance and it’s from this discipline, from this philosophy of life, that she seems keeping to draw the force and harmony of her
works. The human body, always disintegrated and recomposed, is often her source of inspiration. Just like in the most classic of the metamorphoses, the works of Sarah Jérôme consist of different elements, both plants and animals, and emerge from an artistic magma similar to a continuous combustion, a mineral alteration. The artist's works are true places of suggestions, of literary quotations that thicken sheets and matter by means of the body and its transformations; Sarah Jérôme translates these elements into works made of symbols and reality, beauty and hate, sweetness and virility, intimacy and appearance.
The works selected for this exhibition are evidence of this constant tension of the mind in creating and reinterpreting myths, between the heaviness of the formless and the delicacy of bodies. Jérôme
confirms this when she says, "the body is our common denominator, the theatre of our desires and our sufferings. Like a geological site formed by layers, it is through the body that memory is imprinted, and it is through him that we are able to communicate”.
Sarah Jérôme was born in 1979 in Rennes. She lives and works in France. Awarded a diploma by the conservatoire national supérieur de danse of Paris in 1998, she works for the Lyon Opera ballet and turns to the plastic arts in 2001 when she studies to the l’école nationale supérieure des Beaux arts de Paris. Her work is shown in France, Italy, England, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium as well in galleries as in fairs or Museums.
