La Galleria Tiziana Di Caro è felice di ospitare la prima mostra
personale nei suoi spazi di Ivano Troisi (Salerno, 1984), che inaugura
domenica 16 dicembre 2012 alle ore 19.00.
Il progetto espositivo, pensato appositamente per lo spazio di via
delle Botteghelle, prevede disegni, sculture ed installazioni
realizzati, quasi esclusivamente, con carta fatta mano, in un processo
di produzione legato ad una rinomata tradizione, ma che al contempo
rimane singolare ed esclusivo.
Il lavoro di Ivano Troisi ha
come oggetto la natura, analizzata empiricamente attraverso periodiche
ricognizioni al bosco di San Benedetto nella provincia dei Salerno,
luogo frequentato da quando era bambino, che nel tempo ha determinato
fortemente la sua ricerca artistica. Ed è proprio questo bosco il vero
protagonista della mostra. L'artista ne descrive alcuni aspetti,
attraverso l'evocazione di elementi che, una volta de – localizzati,
sono trasferiti in un luogo “altro”, assumendo un aspetto nuovo.
La mostra prevede un gruppo di dodici piccoli disegni su fondo bianco,
realizzati dal vero, in cui bacche, frutti e piccoli rami, sono isolati
totalmente dal contesto di appartenenza; l'artista coglie quegli
elementi che, sebbene siano propri della natura, per la peculiarità
della forma risultano anomali, e quindi si distinguono dal resto
paesaggio.
Tre lavori a parete richiamano, attraverso una
stampa a secco, le sezioni dei tronchi delle querce. All'impasto della
carta viene aggiunto un elemento estratto dai fusti di albero, operando
un processo di carattere sintetico, che vede la materia della natura
regolare il risultato dell'opera.
Due sculture in carta color terra
si collocano lungo il percorso espositivo; indicano due “Sentieri”, uno
in piano, l'altro in salita e si collocano in prossimità di una
costruzione di fogli verdi, sospesa su una porzione di soffitto. Tale
struttura crea una fenditura nello spazio, che fa filtrare sporadici
raggi di luce, così come accade in alcuni ambienti fitti del bosco, dove
la luce non smette mai di penetrare attraverso le, seppur piccole,
aperture tra le foglie. “Respiro” infine è un'installazione che si
distribuisce su una parete, e si compone di una miriade di fogli
leggerissimi. Il movimento degli spettatori ne provoca un lieve e tenue
spostamento, una sorta di silenzioso soffio, vibrante evocazione di una
natura che vive, e che muta nel tempo.
La ricostruzione che
Ivano Troisi fa del bosco non è testuale, ma emotiva: deriva da una
sintesi tra esperienza e ricordo. La mostra è concepita come un percorso
emozionale che vive nella memoria, per concretizzarsi attraverso
elementi diversi, eterogenee forme espressive atte all'interpretazione
più pura di una reminiscenza che, maturando nel tempo, si è radicata
fino a diventare vero e proprio modo di vita.

Di Caro is pleased to announce Ivano Troisi's (Salerno, 1984) first
solo exhibition at the gallery, opening Sunday 16 December 2012, at
19.00.
The exhibition project, designed specifically for the
space in Via delle Botteghelle, includes drawings, sculptures and
installations made almost exclusively with hand-made paper, using a
method which is traditional but at the same time unique and exclusive.
The work of Ivano Troisi focuses on nature, which he analyses
empirically during his recurrent trips to the San Benedetto wood in the
Salerno area, a place he has been visiting since he was a child, and
which over time has become a strong influence on his artistic research.
This very wood is the star of the exhibition. The artist describes
certain aspects of the place through the evocation of elements which,
when de-localized, are moved to a place “other”, to take on a new and
singular aspect.
The exhibition includes a group of twelve
small drawings, made from life, on a white background, where berries,
fruits and small branches are totally isolated from the context where
they belong; the artist captures those elements which, although natural,
for their particular shape look anomalous, therefore standing out from
the rest of the landscape.
With the use of dry printing, three
wall works evoke sections of oak trunks. An element extracted from tree
stems is added to the paper mixture, creating a synthesis through which
the matter of nature influences the result of the work.
Two
sculptures made with soil-colored paper are placed along the exhibition
path; they indicate two “Paths”, one on flat land, the other uphill,
both placed near a structure made with green sheets, hanging from a
portion of the ceiling. This structure creates a rift in space, allowing
the odd ray of light to pierce through, just as it happens in the
denser areas of a wood, where light never fails to make its way through
even small openings between the leaves. Finally, “Breath” is an
installation which spreads out on a wall and consists of a multitude of
lightweight sheets. The passing by of the viewers causes a slight and
subtle movement, a sort of silent breath, the vibrant evocation of
living and evolving nature.
The re-creation of the wood which
Ivano Troisi carries out is not textual, but emotional: it is a
synthesis of experience and memory. The exhibition is conceived as an
emotional journey which dwells in the memory, materializing through
different elements, diverse forms of expression for the purest
interpretation of reminiscence which, maturing over time, has settled to
become a real way of life.
