4 è lieto di presentare il secondo appuntamento della stagione
2012/2013 con una mostra personale di Diego Zuelli (Reggio Emilia,
1979), artista visivo con sede a Bologna, la cui ricerca si sviluppa
principalmente tramite l’ausilio della computer grafica.
DUE,
Il complesso dei pianeti, riflette sulla curiosità per uno scenario che
per quanto presente nella cultura contemporanea -a livello tanto
artistico quanto comune- resta velato dal dubbio, dalla capacità di
scuotere all’interno dello spettatore un’immaginazione non ovvia. Quello delle immagini astronomiche.
Se la diffusione dell’immagine attraverso media ed internet, scienza e
microscopio, sembra aver reso visibile tutto ciò che c’è di presente
all’interno della sfera a noi più vicina (la terra), provocando un
assopimento dell’entusiasmo nei confronti di visioni capaci di rivelarsi
sorprendenti ai nostri occhi, Zuelli sceglie di puntare lo sguardo più
in alto. Più che puntare si potrebbe parlare di costruire uno sguardo: i
progetti presentati dall’artista, sono fatturazioni immaginarie di
qualcosa che non possiamo conoscere, ipotesi irrazionali di una bellezza
che non ci è dato di toccare. Le opere di Zuelli non ci chiedono di
credere ai nostri occhi, cercano piuttosto di farci ricordare che la
meccanica della nostra immaginazione ha ancora qualcosa da costruire.

Interno 4 is pleased to present the second round of the season
2012/2013 with a solo exhibition featuring Diego Zuelli (Reggio Emilia,
1979), visual artist, whose research is mainly developed with the help
of computer graphics.
DUE, the complex of the planets, reflects
on the curiosity expressed toward a scenario of images that even if it
was adopted by contemporary culture in both artistic and collective
imaginarium, it remains veiled the doubt suggested by the prohibited
space that astronomical images suggest.
If the spread of images
through all media and internet, science and microscope, seems to have
made visible everything that the sphere closest to us contains (the
earth), causing a lack of enthusiasm towards visions which turn out to
be amazing in our eyes, Zuelli chooses to “look up”. Instead of setting
one’s sight on something, we can talk about “building a look”, whose
projects give us visions of something that we can not get to know, and
which are assumptions of a beauty that we are not allowed to touch.
Zuelli’s works ask us to stop trusting our own eyes, and remind us that
the mechanics of our imagination is capable of building much more than
what we can see only through them.
