Sei artisti in mostra dal 07 ottobre al Castello Sannicandro di Bari
ADRIATIC SIDE, il mare e i castelli in arte
La Provincia di Bari è lieta di presentare, in qualità di partner del progetto ADRISTORCAL LANDS, l'apertura straordinaria del Castello Di Sannicandro dal 7 al 28 ottobre 2013 all'interno del quale saranno esposti gli itinerari turistici di tutti i Paesi dell'Adriatico coinvolti nel Progetto di Cooperazione Transfrontaliera, IPA Adriatico.
ADRIATIC SIDE: questo il nome scelto per i sei interventi nel Castello di Sannicandro di Bari degli artisti chiamati dalla Provincia di Bari a confrontarsi su un tema comune: il rapporto con il mare Adriatico, protagonista del progetto di cooperazione. Adristorical Lands, difatti, mira a promuovere l’utilizzo dei valori culturali delle due sponde dell’Adriatico, al fine di creare un'identità territoriale comune per lo sviluppo del turismo. L’idea è quella di valorizzare i piccoli borghi medievali, le città murate, i castelli e le dimore storiche presenti nei territori coinvolti. “L'arte contemporanea - evidenzia il Vice Presidente della Provincia Nuccio Altieri - ormai permea tutte le grandi capitali del turismo internazionale rappresentando un segno tangibile di un linguaggio universale che unisce il nostro tempo. L'interazione con lo straordinario passato di cui è ricca la nostra terra rende l'Italia e la Puglia oggi uno dei più ricercati attrattori turistici al mondo. Questa è l'idea di arte e di cultura che ormai da oltre quattro anni sto cercando di consolidare in Terra di Bari con grandi risultati in termini di crescita sociale ma anche economica, perche' sono certo che il turismo e la cultura – conclude - sono tra le più influenti leve per il rilancio del Paese”.
La curatrice del progetto Fausta Maria Bolettieri, ha scelto ed invitato sei artisti provenienti da Italia, Croazia, Slovenia e Polonia: Iva Ćurić, Marcin Fajfruk (www.fajfruk.com), Gašper Jemec, Stefano Romano, Jolanda Spagno, Giuseppe Teofilo. Il dichiarato intento curatoriale è stato far produrre agli artisti un progetto ad hoc per gli spazi espositivi del Castello di Sannicandro. Un progetto strettamente connesso al mare Adriatico, visto come componente fondamentale dello sviluppo socio-culturale ed economico della Puglia, delle Regioni italiane e di tutti i Paesi trans-frontalieri che su di esso si affacciano e che sono direttamente coinvolti nel progetto (Albania, Montenegro, Slovenia, Croazia, Bosnia-Herzegovina). E proprio la cooperazione sarà protagonista all’interno dello splendido maniero, attraverso l’esposizione degli itinerari turistici delle aree interessate dal progetto.
Attraverso il tema del mare e dei castelli, in maniera trasversale, gli artisti interpretano, dunque, la forza dirompente di questo “grande lago”, ma soprattutto l’impatto che esso ha avuto nella società contemporanea. Il risultato è stata la creazione all’interno degli enormi spazi del Castello, di un ordinato microclima, grazie agli interventi site specific degli artisti: ogni opera ha la sua dimensione ed i suoi spazi che coesistono in un equilibrio perfettamente precario.

The Province of Bari is glad to present, as a partner of the project ADRISTORICAL LANDS, the extraordinary opening of Sannicandro Castle from 7th to 28th October 2013 where all the tourist itineraries of all the countries involved in the Cross Country Project, IPA Adriatic will be shown.
ADRIATIC SIDE: this is the name chosen for the six interventions of the artists summoned by the Province of Bari in the Castle of Sannicandro in Bari. They will have to work on a common theme: the relationship with the Adriatic Sea, the protagonist of the cooperation project. Adristorical Lands, in fact, aims at promoting the usage of the values belonging to both sides of the Adriatic in order to create a common territorial identity for tourism development.
The idea is to valorise the small medieval towns, the walled cities, the castles and the historical dwellings of the involved territories. “Contemporary art – affirms Nuccio Altieri, Vice President of the Province of Bari - currently permeates all the big capitals of international tourism representing a tangible sign of a universal language that unifies our time. The interaction with the extraordinary past our land is rich of makes of Italy and Puglia one of the most wanted tourist attractions in the world. This is the idea of art and culture that I have been trying to consolidate for four years with Terra di Bari with great results in terms of social and economic growth, because I am sure that tourism and culture – he concludes - are among the most influent tools to relaunch the Country”.
The project’s curator, Fausta Maria Bolettieri, chose and invited six artists coming from Italy, Croatia, Slovenia and Poland: Iva Curic, Marcin Fajfruk (www.fajfruk.com), Gasper Jemec, Stefano Romano, Jonalda Spagno, Giuseppe Teofilo. The curatorial declared aim was to make the artists produce a project ad hoc for the exhibition spaces of Sannicandro Castle. A project strictly connected to the Adriatic sea, seen as a fundamental component of the social and economic development of Puglia, the Italian Regions and of all cross countries overlooking this sea and which are directly involved in the project (Albania, Montenegro, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina). Cooperation will actually be the protagonist of the wonderful manor, through the exhibition of the tourist itineraries of the areas involved in the project. Through the theme of castle and sea, in a cross way, the artists have to interpret the explosive strength of this “big lake”, but above all the impact it had in contemporary society. The result was the creation inside the huge spaces inside the Castle of a tidy micro climate, thanks to the specific interventions of the artists: each work has its size and space which coexist in a perfectly precarious balance.
