Olympus Offshore di Lydia Dambassina.

Muratcentoventidue Artecontemporanea presents Olympus Offshore, a solo exhibition by Greek artist Lydia Dambassina.

Born in Thessaloniki and educated between Lyon, Grenoble, and Paris, Dambassina has developed a multidisciplinary practice spanning painting, video, installations, photography, and text. Her work explores key issues of our time: economic inequality, the environmental crisis, identity, the role of women, and migration.Often using found objects poetically transformed, her works create a tension between the intimate and the political, the individual and the collective, shaping a powerful and rigorous visual language. The artist defines her practice as “a collective therapeutic space,” aimed at freeing the mind from the constraints of structural inequalities.

Since 2004, her work has focused on the global economic and moral crisis, as in the project Party’s over – Starts over. She has exhibited internationally, and her works are included in the collections of the National Museum of Contemporary Art in Athens (EMST) and the Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art in Thessaloniki (MOMus). In Olympus Offshore (2025), Dambassina revisits the myth of Mount Olympus as a metaphor for today’s new gods — capital and economic power — confronting the fragility of nature and democracy with the strength of lost myths. Installations, photographs, and videos weave together personal memory and universal reflection, evoking desire, resistance, and hope in a fragile and divided world.
