The VENICE ARCHITECTURE ACADEMY, the academic division of BORDERS festival 2016, is an intensive experience that offers different prospective on the whole world of Architecture. Venice Architecture Academy is composed by the VAAD – Venice Art + Architecture Days, with a rich program of talks and meetings during the opening days of BORDERS festival, and the Summer Architecture Academy, with seminars and workshops on Architectural main themes, from Interior Design to Urban Planning.
The Venice Architecture Academy will provide unique opportunities for students, professors, professionists and all people in love with Architecture to explore design and architecture, moving between design knowledge and critical thinking skills, and to experience Venice during the 14th Biennale of Architecture: VAA will be presented in Venice at Palazzo Ca’ Zanardi, Venice Art House, and other prestigious venues and historical buildings, from May to November 2016.
The Venice Architecture Academy is aimed at people who want to change their architectural lives, and experience new systems of teaching and learning architecture, driven by intensive agenda interests.

The Venice Architecture Academy presents a challenging programme of talks, workshops, meetings, seminars and lectures.
Professors and professionals in the field of architecture and design will introduce participants to the history, theory and cases of study in the realms of architecture, urban design, sustainable planning, interior design.
The courses offered are:
1-day conferences, composed by talks, meetings and lectures with important figures of the architectural work;
3-days seminaries, composed by talks, lessons, lectures and tours in the city of Venice, through historic sites and current art and architecture exhibitions, including Venice Biennale;
7-days workshops, composed by lessons and practical activities including a photographic and multi media project based on assigned themes. Workshops include tours in the city of Venice, through historic sites and current art and architecture exhibitions, including Venice Biennale;
The program’s components provide a comprehensive framework and multi-disciplinary approach to contemporary architecture.

Palazzo Ca’ Zanardi (Cannaregio 4132, Venice) is a residential palace dating back to the 16th century which, over the centuries, has been added on to by various noble Venetian families and is one of the most evocative and beautiful palaces in the city of Venice. Sumptuous and possessing particular charm, Ca’ Zanardi is located in a most peaceful setting and has its own delightful private garden as well as a magnificent terrace full of sun and colour. Ca’ Zanardi is located close to the Ca’ D’Oro, the splendid 15th century gothic palace along the Grand Canal. It is easily reachable by foot, after a two minute walk from the Ca’ D’Oro water bus stop, or by boat using the palazzo’s private pier positioned along the fetching Santa Caterina canal. The refined elegance of the palazzo’s halls and common areas and the delicacy of its original 16th century furnishings create a fascinating setting.
Venice Art House gallery is an art gallery located in Venice (Cannaregio 1863C), with a dimension of 250 sqm and two water entrances. Starting from the opening of the space, It’s LIQUID Group, under the direction of Luca Curci, in collaboration with the director of the gallery, Andrea Chinellato, has organized several exhibitions monthly.
