FIAC 2018

FIAC 2018: exhibitors, exhibitions and events
October 17–21, 2018

Vernissage: October 17, 2018

FIAC Galleries
The 45th edition of FIAC will be held in Paris from October 18 to 21, 2018 and will host 195 galleries in the Nave and exhibition rooms of the Grand Palais. The 2018 selection—including many of the most influential specialists worldwide in the fields of modern art, contemporary art and design—will present the finest examples of artistic creation since the turn of the twentieth century; modern masters through to the latest trends, notably represented in the Lafayette Sector. The 2018 edition of FIAC will present 30 solo and 12 duo exhibitions at the Grand Palais.

FIAC Projects
FIAC Projects will present some forty sculptures and installations in situ, within the prestigious setting of the Petit Palais, around the Grand Palais, and on Avenue Winston Churchill, pedestrianised again this year during FIAC week. FIAC Projects is conceived in collaboration with Marc-Olivier Wahler, Director of the Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum at Michigan State University. He has collaborated with the curatorial teams of the Petit Palais and FIAC’s artistic directors to select the artworks, and is the curator of the exhibition in the South gallery and Rotonda of the Petit Palais.

FIAC Hors les Murs
FIAC Hors les Murs, organized in partnership with the musée du Louvre, will present an ensemble of over twenty outdoor works in the Jardin des Tuileries, together with a solo exhibition of Rebecca Warren at the musée National Eugène-Delacroix. On Place Vendôme, FIAC Hors les Murs extends a carte blanche invitation to Elmgreen & Dragset to invest this emblematic Parisian site, in collaboration with Perrotin Gallery. As an extension of the Hors les Murs promenade in the Jardin des Tuileries, FIAC also inaugurates an ephemeral village of architectural projects on Place de la Concorde.

FIAC Programmes
FIAC Programmes presents, for the duration of the fair, a freely accessible programme of performances (Parades for FIAC) and conferences (Conversation Room). FIAC Limited Edition Box Set
FIAC 2018 Limited Edition Box Set features 200 original posters, one for each exhibiting gallery. Their only instruction was to occupy this blank page as they would an exhibition site, leading many of them to entrust the design to an artist, while others reproduced a key work or an emblematic image from the gallery. The result provides a rich testimonial of FIAC 2018; a portable, collective exhibition whose contributions are as remarkable, captivating, and diverse as FIAC’s exhibitors. They can be contemplated or leafed through in their case; displayed—as an ensemble or a personal selection—in a self-curated home exhibition; dispersed, disseminated, or given away as gifts.
