#Picasso. La scultura è la prima mostra in Italia dedicata al Picasso scultore. Pensata come un viaggio attraverso i secoli, presenterà oltre #50capolavori del maestro realizzati dal 1902 al 1961, fotografie di atelier inedite e video.
Attraverso l'esplorazione di diversi temi - storie e miti, corpi e figure, oggetti e frammenti - la mostra presenta i vari incontri che Picasso ha intrattenuto con l’arte di tutti i tempi, dall'antichità all’età moderna oltre a un confronto con i capolavori della Galleria Borghese: ad esempio, la scultura 'Donna con bambino' (1961) di #Picasso è insieme all’'Apollo e Dafne' di #Bernini (1622/1625).
La mostra prosegue l’indagine sulla scultura che il museo porta avanti da molti anni. 'Picasso. La scultura' è a cura di Anna Coliva e Diana Widmaier-Picasso e sostenuta da Fendi, partner istituzionale della Galleria Borghese; è inserita nel programma internazionale Picasso-Méditerranée avviato da Laurent Le Bon, direttore del Musée Picasso Paris.

🇬🇧 Picasso: the Sculpture, is the first exhibition in Italy dedicated to Picasso’s sculpture. Conceived as a journey through the centuries, the exhibition will present more than 50 masterpieces by the great artist executed between 1902 and 1961, unpublished studio photographs, and videos. Through the exploration of different subjects – stories and myths, bodies and figures, objects and fragments – the exhibition will establish various categories of encounters, ranging from Antiquity to the modern age, in addition to a comparison with the masterpieces of the Galleria Borghese’s collection. For example, Picasso’s sculpture Woman with Child (1961) will be displayed together with Bernini’s Apollo and Daphne (1622/1625).
The exhibition aims to continue the investigation of the concept of sculpture that the Museum has been carrying out for many years. Picasso. The Sculpture is curated by Anna Coliva and Diana Widmaier-Picasso and supported by FENDI, the Galleria Borghese’s institutional partner. The exhibition is included in the international cultural project Picasso-Méditerranée initiated by Laurent Le Bon, director of the Musée Picasso-Paris.
