THE WALL OF DELICACY (Ode to America) di Giuseppina Giordano è una pratica meditativa, una riflessione sui confini e sulla delicatezza.
La pratica si realizza attraverso gesti semplici e pieni di grazia: l’artista inserisce uno dopo l’altro dei boccioli di rosa dentro un filo metallico, prestando attenzione a non rovinarli, e osservando i petali che inevitabilmente cadono a terra. Un intervento che nell’estetica rimanda, ribaltandone di senso, al filo spinato utilizzato ai confini tra i Paesi.
Nato come installazione site-specific durante la residenza dell’artista al MASS MoCA, negli Stati Uniti, si è trasformato in un progetto itinerante e partecipato; a Maggio 2019 ha partecipato a BienNolo, biennale di arte contemporanea curata da ArtcityLab, Matteo Bergamini, Carlo Vanoni. Dall’1 al 7 Dicembre, dalle ore 11 alle 18, dentro Palazzo Bonocore. L’artista invita i cittadini a prendere parte alla pratica meditativa e alla realizzazione dell’opera.
Il 7 Dicembre, dalle 8 alle 21, The wall of Delicacy sarà installata a Piazza Pretoria, tra la Fontana e Santa Caterina.

THE WALL OF DELICACY (Ode to America) is a meditation practice, a reflection on boundaries and delicacy. The practice is realized through simple and graceful gestures: the artist inserts, one after the other, rosebuds in a metal wire, paying attention not to damage them, and observing their petals that inevitably fall to the ground.
An installation that in aesthetics refers, overturning its meaning, to the barbed wire used at the borders between Countries.
Born as a site-specific installation during the artist’s residency at MASS MoCA, USA, it has turned into a traveling and participatory project; in May 2019 it took part in BienNolo, a biennial show of contemporary art curated by Artcity Lab, Matteo Bergamini, Carlo Vanoni. From the 1st to the 7th of December, 11 to 6pm, in Palazzo Bonocore. The artist invites citizens to take part in the meditation practice and in the realization of the work.
On the 7th of December, 8 am to 9 pm, The wall of Delicacy will be installed in Piazza Pretoria, between the Fountain and Saint Catherine.
